Frog or Toad?

What's the difference? This dude was by our front porch a few weeks ago.

you'd think after living for years in states with an abundance of both, i'd have it figured out by now. i always say that the uglier ones are toads and the cuter little ones are frogs. not so scientific.

so, that would make this one a toad.

I have had lots of Pet Frogs. They are my FAV. animal and I am pretty sure this is a Toad. Toads usually have the bumps.

Audrey's Joseph, our resident expert says it's semantics. Some species are named frogs, some toads, with no real difference. He says this looks like it may be in the toad family, genus Bufo to be exact.

How's that? To me, it's an animal that hops and croaks.
