Rare self-portrait. For my almost 30 years of pre-children life, I had straw-straight hair. And for most of my adult life, I've had very short and very straight hair. Since I've had children, my hair keeps getting curlier and curlier. That combined with my efforts to grow it out (I've told myself I'll grow it out (with trims) until Mike graduates and then re-evaluate) has me in shock every time I look in the mirror. Who is this person?! I seriously feel like I'm wearing a wig. I sometimes feel like those who know me here in Oklahoma don't know the real me, which is maybe a sad (and enlightening) commentary on how much of my identity was tied to my appearance (hairstyle).

"Pre-school" trains. We learned about the history of transportation and how means and modes of transportation didn't change a whole lot throughout history until after the restoration of the Gospel. The train was one of the first transportation inventions that would help the Gospel spread to the whole world. (Lest you think I'm one of those have-it-all-together moms who has enlightening and fun preschool sessions with her kids every day . . . I'm not. Preschool is very hit-and-miss around here. More miss than hit lately.)
