Mariah is one of a kind. Before we started the whole potty training thing, she (for some unknown reason) would take her pajamas and diaper off at night, and we'd find her in her bed completely naked. It was pretty funny the first time, but became old very very fast. So, we started safety pinning the zipper on her pajamas. We stopped safety pinning during the potty training, but started again when she chose to be back in diapers.
Well, tonight, I went in to help Elaine, who was crying. I checked on Mariah on my way out; she was naked. Yes, she somehow got out of her pajamas with the zipper safety pinned. We have no idea how. All we could do was take photos of the evidence . . . .

bek--that reminds me of when we were trying to get gwyneth to stop twisting her hair so we fashioned a shirt that buttoned over her hands. we had to keep getting more and more elaborate to keep her from escaping from it. pretty soon, we'd sewn the buttons shut, sewn the bottom of the shirt shut (so it was like a short's suit), we turned the shirt around so it was backwards so she couldn't undo the buttons, etc...then we had the extra trouble of liesel getting involved and helping gwyneth escape.....
those were good times. but i remember being so frustrated with them!
You should nickname her Houdini or something! But with all her amazing abilities, I'm sure her list of nicknames would be SUPER long!
Ha ha. She is something else. One of my friends has a daughter like this and they had to duct tape her diaper on (one long piece around the whole thing.) Then they just used scissors when they changed her. You could try that?
Holy cow! How did she do that? I think Mariah owes you some super easy teenage years. Or maybe even some super easy age 3-18 years. Can you make it until December?
i was just thinking the other day and wondering how in the world i'm going to make it through dental school with that girl if she doesn't chill out a little . . . very soon!
you can come visit me a lot during dental school and i will help you get through it all. :) can you tell i'm excited to live so close to you?
I would think all your training at CSI Orem might help you figure out this mystery! But I can also imagine how tired you must be so that wouldn't seem like a fun thing to do. :) Hang in there!
