Family Picture August 2012

Yes, I'm that far behind. Life happens 1 minute at a time at our house, and before I know it, all the minutes are gone. I snag pictures here and there, but actually documenting just hasn't happened in a while.

In August, we made the road trip to Utah and spent 3 very fun weeks with family. We convinced Grandma Shaunna and Aunt Cami to help us with our family pictures.

I'm posting lots of the pictures, so scroll fast if you want to:

This is the first one Cami took, and the one we ended up using on our wall.

This one of Mariah is framed and on the bookshelf.

Here's the one I chose of Elaine.

And Sally's.

And this was my favorite of me and Mike.

The rest of the randomness (well, about 1/3 of them). Cami got some really good ones:

I photo shopped these next 2.

To get this one.

"What does a lion say?"

Sally was a stinker the whole time.

I love my Lainey!

Goldilocks?

So, we're trying to move Sally out of our closet and into the older girls' room--on a toddler bed. The first night was last Friday and Sal was amazing! We told her if it was too hard to stay in her new bed, we'd move her back to the "red bed." She was the last of the 3 to fall asleep but did not get out of bed. She did her usual singing/talking and then fell asleep.

The second night, Mike and I were gone at a football game and missed bedtime. Some friends were staying with the girls, and with all the excitement, we ended up moving Sal back to our closet to go to sleep.

Tonight was the 3rd night since then. She's immediately gotten out of bed each night, and we've moved her to the red bed to sleep. We'll see how long she or I last playing this game. She really wants to sleep in the girls' room and loves her new bed, but is either just needing to test the system since that night of inconsistency, or she's still unsure of sleeping that far away from me. Time will tell.

Anyway, tonight was pretty funny. We tucked her in, and I sat outside the open bedroom door (which is what I've done each night, including the first when she was successful). Within 2 minutes, she came to the door and said, "That bed too soft." I said, "Ok, go get your blanket; I'll take you to the red bed." "No, me sleep in that bed!" and she ran back to bed. Thirty seconds later, she came to the door: "That bed too hard."

Little goldilocks is very happily sleeping in the closet again.

Sick Day

This is what happens when we're all sick and stay home from church:

102 Degrees and Raining!

Thunder!
Not so sure . . .
Being on the grass did the trick.

The water running down the gutter was so warm! (almost hot!)

And 5 minutes later, the sidewalks were dry. Looking forward to a few cooler days ahead.

"just keep on in love . . . ."

This morning Mariah was playing a 10 commandment hopscotch game we made for FHE a long time ago. She asked me what "Thou shalt not commit adultery" means. I told her it means we shouldn't have a relationship with another man or woman besides our husband or wife. She continued playing, and I heard this from the other room: "Don't marry another husband who isn't already your husband, and just keep on in love to your other husband."
